Who Am I?
I’ve always been the type of gal who gives all or nothing. That seems to also fall in line with how my life works. After being married for 6 months (to my childhood crush), my husband and I decided we would try for a baby. Little did we know that the twin bomb would drop on us only a few months later!
So now, here I am a first time mom of twin girls! Juliette & Anjolie.
Though I was born and raised in Brooklyn, I have had the privilege of traveling around the world and living in 11 countries doing humanitarian work before settling back down in New York City. I’ve traveled to beautiful places and have had many adventures, but none compare to the one of being a twin mama.
I was a teacher before I became a stay at home mom with the twins. I am also a singer/songwriter. I lead worship at different church events and I play my original music in venues across NYC. I’ve also been an anti-human trafficking advocate since 2009. I have put together awareness and outreach events for over 6 years.
Why This Blog?
At times, us stay at home moms can feel like all of the things we used to do are so far out of our reach. I worked for 20 years before finally making the decision to become a stay at home mom. Raising our children to be godly and successful is the greatest privilege we can be given, and yet at the same time, we don’t have to stifle the gifts and talents that God has placed in us. It holds true though, that to everything there is a time and season and for a while of twin mommyhood I felt like I lived in a thick cloud. Maybe you feel that way too. I want to reassure you that the cloud WILL lift, and you will get into a better rhythm and you will be able to pursue other passions.
I hope this blog can inspire you to be the best mom you can be as well as inspire you to ignite, or reignite, the passions and gifts that lie within you. Though motherhood is exhausting, chaotic, and messy it is also amazing. I want to share tips and tricks to assist you and also to prevent you from making the same mistakes I made in twin mama life. I also look forward to sharing highlights, lowlights, fears, and dreams so that you know you’re not alone.
Let’s be adventurers, mamas as we navigate this twin life in double vision. I know we will laugh, cry, grow together, challenge each other and encourage each other to live our lives to the fullest being the best twin mamas that God helps us to be.
